Determination of Zygaenidae (Lepidoptera) species by morphological and molecular methods in the Eastern Mediterranean Region of Turkey

Morphological identification of the majority Zygaenidae species in Eastern Mediterranean Region Turkey was undertaken and a phylogenetic tree these generated. Sampling performed between May September 2017 2018 Adana, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Mersin Osmaniye Provinces. This area is zoogeographical junction central Anatolia Levant. The were collected by sweep net visual control methods. Thirteen identified: Theresimima ampellophaga (Bayle-Barelle, 1808), Adscita (Adscita) obscura (Zeller, 1847), Jordanita (Tremewania) notata (Praviela) anatolica (Naufock, 1929), (Solaniterna) subsolana (Staudinger, 1862) (Procridinae), Zygaena (Mesembrynus) diaphana Staudinger, 1887, graslini Lederer, 1855, punctum Ochsenheimer, 1808, Zyganea (Agrumenia) olivieri Boisduval, 1828, carniolica (Scopoli, 1763), viciae (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775), loti 1775) (Zygaena) filipendulae (L., 1758). Macherey-Nagel NucleoSpin kit used for DNA extraction PCR with LCO1490/HCO2198 primer pair mtCOI gene region. analysis effectively separated genera phylogenic tree, data supported morphological identification.
